Concept

The golden rhinoceros refers to a time in the Middle Ages when the continent of Africa made enormous contributions to culture and science. The sunflowers are representative of enlightenment.

Technique

I use encaustic monotypes that I create and combine them in my collage work. The sunflower image is a photo taken in a field of flowers near Cahuilla Mountain.
