WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Over the course of two-full days dedicated to artistic creation, you will acquire technical expertise and collage composition skills while harnessing your creative intuition to craft a truly unique encaustic collage.

Traditional collage relies mainly on adhering paper to a surface using glue. However, encaustic collage elevates this art form by employing encaustic medium to fuse paper and occasionally three-dimensional assemblage objects. In this course, we’re taking it a step further, delving into the exciting world of encaustic monotypes to infuse your work with completely distinctive and original imagery. Think of it as collage on an unique creative journey.

If you have made any encaustic monotypes, please bring them. But if you don’t, fret not; we’ll dedicate a few hours to creating two mesmerizing monotypes that will become the heart of your collage work.

A few nice words said about my workshops.

We were surrounded by beautiful art in a bright and airy studio, spacious workstations and an abundance of supplies. Nanette is such a joy to have as an instructor. She demonstrated the techniques to make prints and transfers then guided us personally to design our own work.

I loved learning new skills, working with new mediums and expanding my horizons. She understood the individuality of each person and met them "where we were at in our own work." This encaustic monotype workshop did just that!
